This online classroom based course is suitable for new applicants looking to gain a license to drive a hackney carriage or private hire vehicle.

The next course is on 21st and 22nd January 2026.

Timetable:

Day 1 – 3 hour and 15 minute session between 09:00 and 12:30pm.

Day 2 – 6 hour session between 9:00 and 3pm.

The course covers the following parts of the SafeCab driver accreditation:

• Customer Service, Licensing and the Law
• Disability, Equality and Dementia awareness
• Safeguarding Children and Adults at Risk
• Driver Safety

On day 2, between 12:30 and 3pm you will sit online tests in rules, regulations and routes.

The Mobility Exchange SafeCab accreditation has been specifically designed for the needs of a modern taxi and private hire service. Following completion of the course you will be able to download a Mobility Exchange accredited electronic certificate and you will have access to summary material in your Unified membership account.
